Yolanda Keith

Yolanda brings a wealth of experience and passion to the Community Counseling Center. Her background in higher education, public service, and non-profit leadership has been dedicated to creating opportunities for underserved communities across North Carolina. She spearheaded a successful program at UNC-Chapel Hill that empowered thousands of first-generation and low-income students to pursue post-secondary opportunities across the state.
Yolanda is excited to leverage her skills to serve our community. Her program management, fundraising, and team leadership expertise will ensure the Center's continued growth and stability. Yolanda's commitment to social justice and serving communities extends beyond education. She passionately advocates for access to mental health resources and volunteers with organizations such as Resilient Pender and the Bull City Yoga Festival. Additionally, she incorporates this passion into her trauma-informed yoga practice offerings, promoting holistic well-being for all.
Born and rooted in Burgaw, NC, Yolanda recently returned to the area and has engaged in learning about her community's history. Her education includes an Associate's degree in Marketing from Cape Fear Community College, a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from UNC-Chapel Hill, and a Master's degree in Public Administration focusing on non-profit management from North Carolina Central University. Yolanda sees her education as the foundation for her professional journey and understanding systems. She combines it with her lived experiences to create positive impacts and support positive change.
